Quality patient care is always the driving force behind all NCH initiatives. After an extensive search, NCH Healthcare System was proud to announce Kristin Mascotti, M.D. as the New Chief Medical Officer (CMO)  of the NCH Healthcare System this past summer.

During this time, numerous highly qualified candidates were diligently interviewed to find the right leader for the medical staff at NCH.

“After an exhaustive national search, we were happy to have discovered such an excellent physician for our new Chief Medical Officer. Her executive leadership experience and proven collaborative successes along with her collegial and friendly demeanor made her the clear choice for our organization. I am proud to have been a part of the recruitment effort to bring such talent to our medical community,” said Bryan Murphey, M.D., NCH Interim Chief Medical Officer.

The newly appointed CMO Dr. Mascotti comes to NCH from Long Beach Medical Center and Miller children’s  & Women’s where she served as Chief Quality Officer. Dr. Mascotti is “one of the nation’s highly respected physician leaders and innovators in clinical quality and best practice, evidence-based medicine who led quality efforts at academic medical centers and teaching hospitals,” according to a statement from MemorialCare.

Certified as a Physician Executive from the American Association for Physician Leadership, Dr. Mascotti completed her Master’s Degree in Healthcare Quality and Safety Management from Thomas Jefferson University School of Population Health. Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, she graduated

“Dr. Mascotti’s experience and background in patient quality and safety are sure to lend fresh perspective to her new role as Chief Medical Officer – particularly, her background in infectious disease will be of vital importance for us at this very moment.
