Mellow Yellow For Your Hair?

by Erick Carter

Yellow tones occur for a reason. Hair is made up of a protein called keratin which is yellow in tone. The darker your natural hair is, the harder it is to remove the unwanted yellow.

While there are several techniques we can use in the salon to help remove them, they are only temporary. Since these are short-term solutions, why not try these techniques a thome?

The complimentary color to yellow is violet. So, the best way to combat the yellow at home is with a shampoo that deposits some violet pigment.

I will caution you to not overdo it. Violet shampoos can deposit too much color into the hair. What gets deposited depends on tone, porosity, texture, and density. No one color pigment shampoo meets every need. At Salon Zenergy, we use a system that allows us to custom blend a shampoo to fit your hair.

If you do not get the desired results when you attempt this at home, we invite you to try our custom blended color shampoo. Please call, email, or stop by Salon Zenergy, 2950 Tamiami Trail N.
