UNWANTED YELLOW TONES IN BLONDES

by Erick Carter

Yellow tones occur for a reason.

Hair is made up of a protein called keratin whichis yellow in tone. The darker your natural hair, the harder it is to remove the unwanted yellow. While there are several things we do in the salon to help remove them, they are temporary.

Since these are short term solutions, why not try these techniques at home?

The complimentary color to yellow is violet. So, the best way to combat the yellow at home is with a shampoo that deposits some violet pigment. I will caution you to not over do it. Violet shampoos can deposit too much color into the hair. What gets deposited depends on tone, porosity, texture, and density. No one color pigment shampoo meets every need. At Salon Zenergy we use a system that allows us to custom blend a shampoo to fit your hair.

If you are not pleased with the results when you attempt this at home, we invite you to try our custom blended color shampoo.
