That Special Look for the Holidays

by Erick Carter

How can I change my hair for the holidays?” Is it only to be a temporary change? It can take time and be longer lasting than just the Christmas season.

So here are a few quick and easy ideas: Have you thought about adding extensions to give your hair a bit of color fun?

Fashion color extensions can be purchased at most beauty supply stores. This allows you to add a pop of color, when placed properly in your hair. These types of extensions can be purchased as a clip-in for ease of use, which is what I recommend.

If you’re looking for something that is a bit more permanent than a seasonal change and less maintenance than adding clip-in extensions to your already busy beauty routine, you might add highlights.

The best way (and to keep it low maintenance) is the pleating technique.

The hair falls visually like pleats on a pair of pants. Bolder is highlights falling like curtains in your hair rather than the softer look of pleats—but, there is more upkeep. Pleats allow you to do highlights without trips to the salon every 4-6 weeks. In addition, it’s a quicker process, plus as they grow out you don’t see as much of the line of demarcation.

Pleats can also be toned to a seasonal color by using a direct dye, which will last for about a month.

What kind of time do you wish to spend on your hair? Your budget? How long-lasting do you want this change to be?

There are solutions to a fun-filled holiday look. How may your professionals help to make it so?

Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season!
