Ready to Learn, Ready to Lead.

While summer is a time for fun and relaxation, it can also present a significant challenge for students. Known as the “summer slide,” students without access to structured learning often lose academic progress made during the school year. But at Guadalupe Center, education doesn’t take a break. Through a range of year-round learning programs, we make sure students stay engaged, prepared, and on track for success.

This summer, more than 300 kindergarten, first, and second graders will participate in our Summer Enrichment Program, not only maintaining but advancing their academic skills. By providing a safe, engaging, and academically enriching environment, we’re laying the foundation for long-term success, ensuring that students return to school in the fall with confidence.

But the benefits of summer learning extend beyond the classroom. Our Tutor Corps program employs 125 Immokalee High School students as tutors for K-2 learners, creating a powerful work-study model. These high schoolers earn wages and scholarships while gaining mentorship and career guidance —critical support that helps many become the first in their families to graduate high school and attend college.

For our rising high school seniors, summer is a transformative opportunity to explore college life through pre-college programs and campus visits. Through these experiences, Tutor Corps students discover career paths and academic disciplines, guiding them as they prepare their futures.

Even the youngest learners at Guadalupe Center benefit from year-round education. Our Early Childhood Education Program serves more than 550 children, ages six weeks to five years, fostering cognitive, social, and emotional development. With full-day, year-round programming across multiple campuses, we ensure that students are well-prepared for kindergarten and beyond.

At Guadalupe Center, education isn’t confined to the school year — it’s a lifelong commitment. By investing in summer programs, we’re investing in brighter futures. Because when students have continuous opportunities to learn, they build momentum that lasts a lifetime. To learn more, please visit GuadalupeCenter.org
