painting1March always seems to be the busiest month of the year here in Naples. The weather is beautiful and there is a lot to see and do that is memorable and worthwhile. If you enjoy art and music and a good time, “Five Painters And A Potter” is an absolute “must do!” It is an annual event that is held at The Clay Place which is an oasis featuring a pottery studio just off Davis Blvd. before Airport Rd. as you are heading out of town.

The artists you will see presenting their work at this event are some of the best artists in Naples and they have been here painting 30 to 44 years. “This is the way we used to do outdoor shows years ago.”

Unlike the very commercial overwhelming outdoor shows that happen each month in season locally, this event boasts a “laid-back,” Island atmosphere where the public is invited to take in the sounds of music performed by area musicians, Captain Joe and The Bottom Feeders, while enjoying the handful of well-seasoned quality artists that have been painting the Naples scenes for over four decades.

Jim Rice is the potter and he is accompanied by Phil Fisher, Paul Arsenault, Natalie Guess, Jeff Fessenden and Tara O’Neill who are painters in various mediums including oils, watercolor, acrylic, batik, rozome and even some caricatures.

“Five Painters And A Potter” is on Sunday March 22, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The Clay Place, 1555 Shadowlawn Dr. Please come and enjoy the day with us!
