from the desk of Representative Byron Donalds

As we approach another summer in beautiful Southwest Florida, we’re nearly halfway through the second session of the 117th Congress. Serving as an advocate for the people and representing the values of our community is my top priority as your representative.

My office and I are committed to advancing initiatives that limit government control, ease the burden on your wallet, and protect the U.S. Constitution. Below is a summary highlighting a handful of ways I’ve been serving as your advocate in Washington:

Introduced the Protecting Communities from Harmful Algal Blooms Act, which would allow governors to include ‘algal blooms’ in the applicability of Major Disaster Declarations to preserve and protect vital marine ecosystems.

Joined the House Everglades Caucus, to work in a bipartisan manner to prioritize the necessary funding of the Florida Everglades to ensure the complete restoration and preservation of this unique ecosystem.

Wrote a letter to President Biden in support of Governor DeSantis’ FEMA appeal, and expressed Southwest Florida’s significant level of need following the landfall of multiple devastating tornadoes.

Introduced the Price Stability Act, which aims to end the Federal Reserve’s dual mandate and would ensure the central bank focuses on containing inflation to bring relief to struggling American families.

Hosted several Town Hall meetings, to bring the latest legislative announcements from Capitol Hill to our community.

Met with several local and state stakeholders, to discuss ways we can work together to ensure Florida remains the freest state in the nation and to secure a Republican majority in the House this November. Introduced the Prohibit the Venezuelan Importation Act, which prohibits President Biden and his administration from importing petroleum products from the fraudulent regime of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

Received an A+ rating from the Susan B. Anthony List for my Pro-Life voting record in Congress.

As a constitutional conservative with a commitment to fiscal responsibility, my mission while in Congress is to protect your
individual liberty and reduce reckless government spending. To view a full list of legislative measures that I’ve introduced and
supported, I encourage the residents of Southwest Florida to visit www.congress.gov.
