Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation Announces Signature Fundraising Gala

TimeToRememberLogo-black-02NAPLES, FLA. (NOVEMBER 2, 2015) – There’s a “Heat Wave” headed this way on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples when soul diva, music legend and the First Lady of Motown, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas will perform LIVE during Florida Cancer Specialists Foundations’ “Time to Remember” gala event.

The magical Motown-inspired evening features cocktails, dinner, dancing and a live auction of unique items and experiences including an exclusive “fund-a-family” live bidding experience where proceeds go directly to support families of cancer patients.

Founding Chair Jackie Bearse, together with Chair, Patty Baker, Co-chairs Kirsten Ferrara and Jean Hertzog and a committee of more than 20 volunteers have created an event that is both lighthearted and fun but with an underlying purpose that is both serious and meaningful.

“The inaugural fundraiser, “Rio Carnival” was held in 2014,” said Bearse, founding chair and FCS Foundation board member. “We have raised more than $1 million in grants to fund the real and everyday needs of families – however, there is so much more that needs to be done.”

Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation provides assistance to cancer patients in Florida who need help with their non-medical living expenses while undergoing treatment. The Foundation enables those fighting cancer to concentrate on recovery rather than on their overdue rent, mortgage, electric, or water bills.

“What is important to know is that the Foundation staff and overhead are paid for by Florida Cancer Specialists,” said Shelly Glenn, FCS Foundation board member and chief marketing & sales officer for Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, “which means that every dollar raised by the FCS Foundation goes directly to helping cancer patients.”

The biennial signature event is the Foundation’s major funding source to help fulfill its ever-increasing patient grant applications.

Tickets are $600 per person; underwriting and sponsorship opportunities are available by calling 941-677-7181 or online at Foundation.FLCancer.com/time/.
