Our hair is made up of protein and requires moisture. The problem is how do we know when we need protein in our hair or moisture. I will share with you two easy tests you can perform at home.
The wet test: wet your hair and stretch it. If it returns back to the starting position without breaking, then you have healthy hair. If it stretches further than it should and breaks, then you probably need protein.
If it does not stretch much you could be lacking moisture.
If the wet test does not work for you, go by feel. If it’s limp, stringy, and/or sticky then you need protein. If your hair gets tangled easily and is dry and weak you need moisture. If your hair is hard and tough, chances are you have too much protein. If it is weak and will not style you may have too much moisture.
