art after dark

We are now past the holidays and starting a new year! Going forward, we are looking toward an inspirational season that will take us far away from the negative effects of the past year and move us into the exciting opportunities of 2018!

Being in Naples can be exhilarating this time of year because so many others want to be here too, for good reason. It’s a great time to slow down and take in the beauty that surrounds us in the nature that is so important to South Florida, which expands into the culture representing these inspirations in its arts locally.

Naples offers many possibilities! Crayton Cove is in the midst of rebuilding, but offers a historic repose from the hustle and bustle that has settled here. Phase One of the new floating Naples City Dock is marked and the work will continue to come to completion toward the end of this season. Charter boats are back offering their water based activities for those wanting to experience nature adventures in the back waters or the Gulf. The award-winning restaurants and galleries in the Cove area are open and continuing to offer that Naples environment many of us moved here to enjoy.

Through May, the Galleries of Crayton Cove host “Art After Dark” on the second Saturday of each month from 6 – 9 p.m. where the public is invited to come and enjoy an evening of live music and art. On January 13, some of the participating galleries are Phil Fisher Gallery, Random Acts of Art, Pure Design, Naples Ships Store, Cove Inn Lobby 24/7 and Guess- Fisher Gallery. They are a group of galleries representing professional artists in our community in Old Naples by the Bay, all within a one-block walk, where 8th Street South and 12th Avenue South meet at the flagpole.
