An Artists Perception by Phil Fisher and Natalie Guess
As it happens, this month is full of activities and events as our warmer weather encourages numerous visitors and residents to come out. At this time of year, Naples is bustling, and art is alive! There are many outdoor art shows happening now, as well as through the season during the next few months. Our Naples galleries and museums are actively featuring artwork that satisfies the soul in various directions of personal taste.
Amidst this flurry of visual activity, Phil Fisher is featured at the Collier County Museum, located at 3331 Tamiami Trail, East at the Government Center. His show titled “Memories of Collier County-Through the Art of Phil Fisher” will commence with a reception, open to the public, on February 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Viewers will have the opportunity to see some of the last 54 years of Naples history through Phil’s paintings that will be on display until April 30. In addition to the show, the public will have the pleasure of listening to and asking questions of Mr. Fisher at the “Artist Gallery Talk”, which will take place at the museum from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on February 11.
Much of Phil Fisher’s current work is available at his gallery, as well as paintings of area scenes by artists Jan Ellen Atkielski, Greg Biolchini, Larissa Flynn and Kevin Barton. These, along with masterful batiks by Natalie Guess and contemporary raku clay sculptures by Richard Rosen are a part of the collection that can be seen at Guess-Fisher Gallery, 985 Central Ave, in Naples Design District.
