A Month of Inspiration with Artis—Naples 2024-25 Season

As spring begins to take hold in Southwest Florida, March invites us to explore the vibrancy of cultural offerings while celebrating the renewal of the season. For Artis—Naples, this transformative time brings opportunities to engage with remarkable exhibitions, unforgettable music and dynamic programming that enrich and inspire the community.

The Baker Museum continues to captivate visitors with an array of exhibitions, each offering unique perspectives and artistic innovation. On March 8, the museum unveils Entangled in the Mangroves, an exploration of ecological connections through striking contemporary art. Showcasing works by 10 talented artists, the exhibition highlights the beauty, diversity and fragility of the Everglades ecosystem while fostering connections between activists, Indigenous communities, scholars and scientists. This new exhibition joins a robust lineup of ongoing offerings, including Rafael Lozano-Hemmer: Obra Sonora, a multisensory experience blending sound and visual art; In the Making: Sketches, Studies and Maquettes from the Permanent Collection, which highlights the creative process through diverse mediums; and Florida Contemporary 2024-25, a celebration of the Sunshine State’s vibrant artistic landscape.

The Naples Philharmonic takes center stage in a variety of settings with a compelling lineup of performances this month. March begins in Daniels Pavilion with a Wang Chamber Music performance featuring Mozart’s Dissonance Quartet on March 2. The Naples Philharmonic brings orchestral music into the community with an Around Town performance in Bonita Springs on March 6 and Marco Island on March 7 under the baton of Associate Conductor Manuel López-Gómez. Artistic and Music Director Alexander Shelley returns on March 13-15 to conduct one of the season’s most highly anticipated moments: three unforgettable Masterworks performances featuring Beethoven’s iconic Symphony No. 9. Widely regarded as one of the greatest works in classical music, the Ninth Symphony’s powerful choral finale—featuring the Naples Philharmonic Chorus, the Chancel Choir of Moorings Presbyterian Church and other guest vocalists—delivers a universal message of hope and unity. On March 18-22, the Naples Philharmonic Pops program Hollywood Rocks, led by guest conductor Stuart Chafetz, brings cinematic excitement to Hayes Hall. And last but not least, chamber music lovers will enjoy two intimate Sypert Salon performances of Beethoven’s Ghost Trio on March 18 and 23.
