a message from your publisher….Florida’s Troubled Waters

Reg Buxton Life in Naples Publisher

Water makes up roughly 70% of the Earth’s surface, 60% of the human body, and is the lifeblood of Florida’s $100 billion tourist industry. With this in mind, when water quality is threatened in Florida, it’s a big deal.

This is the situation our interior water system faces at present, spanning from Orlando down to Lake O and through the Everglades. Water policy is an important issue, and one that is much debated. In my article “From North to South, Water Policy is Complex” (pages 42-43), I discuss the flow of our fresh water, the complex issues it currently faces, along with several proposed solutions and their implications. I hope you’ll take a look.
