The NCH Heart Institute At the Heart of What Matters Most.

For more than 50 years, longer than any other medical facility in Collier County, NCH has offered cardiology services to our region and has grown the specialty as our community has grown. I am happy to be able to share our plans with you here regarding our steps forward in that growth.

I am excited to announce the re-branding of The NCH Heart Institute as well as the appointment of Robert J. Cubeddu, MD, as the new president of the Heart institute. Our new look and feel will bring our Heart Institute into a new era where our care, craft and patient experience is at the forefront of our specialties, and Dr. Cubeduu will be at the helm leading us every step of the way.

This appointment is part of our strategy to expand The NCH Heart Institute’s cardiovascular services to meet the needs of patients in our community and beyond.

Dr. Cubeddu is a Harvard Medical School trained, world renowned cardiologist and comes to NCH from Cleveland Clinic Florida – Weston Campus, which U.S. News & World Report ranked as the fifth best hospital in the state. There Dr. Cubeddu served as Chairman of Cardiovascular Medicine and Regional Director of Structural Heart Disease. He brings to NCH a reputation of excellence and exemplary quality with extraordinary patient outcomes.

NCH was named one of America’s 100 best for cardiac care six years in a row by Healthgrades (2016-2021) as well as being ranked by U.S. News & World Report as eleventh in Florida.

Dr. Cubeddu plans to take the NCH Heart Institute to the next level, creating a health care destination in Florida for patients in need of cardiac care from around the nation. Under his leadership, he plans on bettering those accolades using his experience and knowledge to get NCH within the top eight hospitals in Florida and ranked as a top 50 hospital for cardiac care in the nation.

The NCH Heart Institute physicians and staff have historically worked hard to build a strong foundation, and I look forward to Dr. Cubeddu and his colleagues advancing our cardiac services. His patient experience scores are practically perfect, and his reputation and recruitment resources will establish NCH for growth.

Dr. Cubeddu will lead us in becoming a premier destination for cardiac care in the nation. Dr. Cubeddu is involved in a multitude of cutting-edge clinical trials and brings innovation and research to the Heart Institute. His focus on education, clinical expertise and advocacy will uniquely position NCH.
