The Alzheimer’s Association Tea at The Ritz-Carlton rescheduled for November.

Save the Date for Monday November 30, 2020 from 2-4 PM at The Ritz Carlton Beach Hotel and join friends and supporters for an elegant afternoon.

The Royal Tea which was originally scheduled for May was deferred when the Pandemic brought our world to a halt.  As it turns out, Kathy Heldman Development Manager with the Alzheimer’s Association reports that it was an opportunity to turn a lemon into lemonade. The weekend after Thanksgiving is when all of the Ritz elves gather to put up the gigantic Christmas tree in the Hotel lobby. It feels like a wonderland with the additional placement of dozens of trees elegantly dressed for a festive experience throughout the Hotel.

It is also the time that their very famous Ritz Ginger Bread house is constructed in the lobby entrance which is photographed by hundreds of people each year.  Those attending the Royal Tea on the Monday after Thanksgiving will experience the sights, sounds and glamour of the Season of Giving making it both meaningful and heartwarming. Giving Tuesday for 2020 is December 1st, making the Alzheimer’s support Tea on November 30th a perfect time to care and share.

Most of us have heard of or participated in Giving Tuesday but it’s history is not that well known. Giving Tuesday is a day which is observed on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It was created in 2012, to celebrate giving and charitable acts. Naples is well known for being philanthropic year round but the community really ramps up at that particular time. Participating in Giving Tuesday assures that programs, services and even research can continue which allows problems to be addressed and then potentially resolved on a larger scale. It is about sharing and caring.

Supporting the Alzheimer’s Association by celebrating Giving Tuesday can be exhibited by giving time, talent or resources to this charity. We have all been touched in some way by families who struggle with the debilitating effects of this disease.  Families as caregivers can feel isolated and overwhelmed, support is imperative for physical as well as psychological well-being.

Attending the Royal Tea at the Ritz Beach Hotel is a way to join together with other members of the community who want to make that difference.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. As the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s research, the Alzheimer’s Association is committed to accelerating the global progress of new treatments, preventions and, ultimately, a cure.

Every November, Collier County families, community organizations, and local businesses come together for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, an inspirational event to raise funds for local programs, services, and research.

This year there is a second way to show support and that’s by attending the Monday November 30th Tea at The Ritz Beach Hotel, which will held from 2 -4 P.  Save The Date as tickets will go on sale in early fall and seating will be limited.
