OVER-RIPE BANANAS

by Erick Carter

Instead of using those bananas for banana nut bread (fattening!), have you considered using them for your hair?

Bananas contain healing nutrients for color-damaged or dryhair, as do avocados. These fruits tend to work better if they are a bit over-ripe or soft. Rosemary and olive oil make a great treatment for your hair as well.

Rosemary can stimulate hair growth while olive oil adds much needed oil for dry hair. Simply add rosemary essential oil to about ¼ cup olive oil. I would suggest about 5-8 drops of rosemary.

Cover your hair strands and make sure you address the scalp as well. Cover your hair with a plastic cap and leave on for 20 minutes. Then, shampoo and condition as you would normally.

The secret to any treatment is to be sure you get even distribution on your hair.

So, don’t be so quick to throw out over-ripe fruit. Your hair will go bananas over it.
