NCH CVICU and Critical Care Units Earn Silver Beacon Award for Excellence

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at NCH Baker Hospital and the Critical Care Unit at NCH North Hospital have been awarded the Silver Beacon Award for Excellence by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). This prestigious designation recognizes exceptional patient care and a commitment to fostering a healthy work environment.

This marks the first time Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH) has received the Beacon Award, a testament to the organization’s transformational quality outcomes and the dedication of its critical care teams. The award distinguishes units that consistently deliver evidence-based practices and superior patient experiences.

“We are incredibly proud of our critical care nurses for earning this well-deserved recognition,” said Gina Teegarden, Chief Nursing Officer at NCH (FEATURED PHOTO). “This achievement reflects their unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality care, advancing patient safety, and fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff.”

The Beacon Award for Excellence is a national honor recognizing hospital units that meet stringent criteria in areas such as leadership, staff engagement, patient outcomes, and continuous learning. Earning this designation highlights NCH’s commitment to setting new standards in critical care.
