MISSION BBQ NAPLES DONATES TO COLLIER COUNTY 100 CLUB

COLLIER COUNTY 100 CLUB RECEIVES DONATION FROM MISSION BBQ NAPLES TO ASSIST FIRST RESPONDERS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

The Collier County 100 Club, a non-profit organization whose mission is to financially assist first responders and their families in times of tragedy, announced that it has received a $2,088 donation from Mission BBQ Naples. The funds were generated through the restaurant’s Hometown Heroes cup sales.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude for Mission BBQ Naples’ ongoing and generous support with their most recent contribution from the proceeds of their Hometown Heroes cup sales,” said Russell Budd, President of the Collier County 100 Club. “Mission BBQ Naples’ commitment to the community, specifically Collier County 100 Club, helps us carry out our mission of helping our first responders in times of need and tragedy, given the ever-increasing demands placed on them, our community, and our organization.”

Mission BBQ opened its doors on September 11, 2011, 10 years after the world changed forever. Since then, its founders have strived to support the country’s Hometown Heroes.

Through the American Hero Cup Program, different colored cups are sold all year long and Mission BBQ donates $2 from the sale of every cup. Customers are encouraged to bring the cup back to the restaurant to get $1 off their combo meal or a .99 cent fountain drink refill. Similar fundraisers are planned this year for the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation to build a memorial in Washington, D.C., and Honor Flights for veterans. Another benefit also is planned later this year for the Collier County 100 Club.

Founded in 1985, the Collier County 100 Club is a non-profit organization whose mission is to financially assist first responders and their families in times of tragedy. It was originally incorporated to provide support for the families of fallen officers.

Over time, the Collier County 100 Club broadened its mission to include all first responders serving in Collier County. That includes not only the Sheriff’s Office, local police and fire departments, and emergency medical services, but also Florida Wildlife officers and any state or federal law enforcement personnel assigned to Collier County.

Recently, the organization’s Board of Directors further expanded the mission “To financially assist first responders and their families in times of tragedy.” This was to acknowledge that many financial burdens were placed on first responders by tragedies other than line of death duties, such as natural disasters. The Collier County 100 Club raises funds through annual memberships and generous donations throughout the year from the community.
