What to Do During the “Quiet” Summer Months in Naples?

Come visit Opera Naples at the Wang Opera Center, located at 2408 Linwood Avenue. This July, our Summer Youth Program will be in full swing – representing both an opportunity for you to enjoy a night on the town attending the youth performance, or the perfect camp option for your budding thespian. Designed for budding singers ranging in age from 13 to 20, the program prepares youth to perform a comic operetta in only two weeks as well as participate in workshops on vocal technique, acting, improvisation and prop construction. Our youth will be presenting Gilbert & Sullivan’s hilarious Pirates of Penzance in three performances on Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 26 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. This very clever operetta has withstood the test of time, complete with plundering pirates, blundering policemen and toe-tapping melodies. We promise that our production will make you laugh as well as marvel at the talents of the youth in our community.

Opera Naples also warmly invites all culture lovers to support our small, but growing opera company with a generous contribution to our end-of-season campaign. Now is a very exciting time at Opera Naples. We just enjoyed our fifth annual Festival Under the Stars, with record ticket sales and an ever expanding partnership with the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation. Despite all of our season’s successes, we continue to face the reality of the State of Florida funding cuts this fiscal year and truly appreciate all gifts to help us fill the gap. Additionally, all gifts of $150 or more before June 30, 2025 will be matched up to $40,000.

This great community of supporters receives all sorts of benefits and special access including invitations to fun events like our summertime EuroFest, our Welcome Back Party in the fall, our Spring Luncheon and our Toast to Opera events which happen in conjunction with the operas programmed during our season. Additionally, Friends of Opera Naples enjoy no fees on their ticket exchanges, advance notifications of performances and donor recognition in our Festival Under the Stars program book as well as on our Opera Naples website. Friends of Opera Naples who give at the Millennium Club level or higher ($1,500+) get additional exclusive benefits such as invitations to post-performance receptions and press conferences and enjoying meals with Opera Naples Executive Director Melanie Kalnins and/or Artistic and Music Director Maestro Ramón Tebar.
