Commander William McDonald began his career with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in January of 1988. He started as a Patrol Deputy and completed assignments in Criminal Investigations and Narcotics Investigations along with serving as a Patrol Sergeant, District Lieutenant, Special Operation Commander and Patrol Division Commander. Commander McDonald is currently assigned to the Community Outreach Department where he oversees the agency’s Community Relations, Crime Prevention, Victim Services, Senior Services, Minority Affairs, Volunteer and Auxiliary components. Commander McDonald is a graduate of Barron Collier High School and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from International College. Commander McDonald is a past member of the Hodges University Criminal Justice Advisory Board and AMI Kids – Big Cypress board of trustees.
