Joy on the Runway: Baby Basics Fashion Show Shines

Baby Basics of Collier County held its annual Fashion Show on Friday, November 14, with over 250 men and women in attendance. The fundraising luncheon has become a seasonal favorite among supporters and raised over $100,000. to help families in need.

The event brought together guests for an afternoon of delicious food, stunning fashions, and heartfelt community spirit. Emceed by Lois Thome of WINK News, the program spotlighted Baby Basics’ mission to provide diapers and kindness to hardworking families. Founder Jean Ann Lynch was joined by her daughter, Alicia Stedman, who leads the Baby Basics Boston affiliate. Together, they spoke about their family’s deep compassion, so profound it has earned them the nickname “the sobbing family “and shared plans to expand the program to meet growing local needs. Guests were also moved by the presence of a Baby Basics mom and her baby, who attended as special guests. Centerpieces featured handcrafted items created by another former Baby Basics mom, whose children and small business are now thriving, a beautiful testament to the program’s long-term impact.

“This year’s luncheon was truly another remarkable milestone. Even with the necessary ticket price adjustments, the room was filled with warmth, generosity, purpose, and fun!” said Jean Ann Lynch, President and Founder of Baby Basics. “We were thrilled to have so many dedicated volunteers, models, partners, and sponsors with us again. The smiles and laughter were endless, and together, we raised vital funds for the babies—and that is what touches my heart.”

The annual fashion show remains one of Baby Basics’ most important fundraising events, with proceeds supporting the organization’s monthly diaper distribution to families in Collier County. Thanks to the generosity of donors, sponsors, and attendees, Baby Basics continues its mission to provide diapers and dignity to over 600 babies and 2,500 family members each month. The fundraising luncheon has grown into one of the season’s favorite traditions for many of the organization’s supporters.

Baby Basics of Collier County supplies free diapers monthly to low-income, working families in Collier County and Bonita Springs is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
