Immokalee Foundation Earns Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency Sixth Year in a Row

The designation puts the Foundation in the top 0.1% of charities nationwide in terms of transparency.

For the sixth consecutive year, The Immokalee Foundation has earned the Candid 2022 Platinum Seal of Transparency, putting the Foundation in the top 0.1% of charities nationally in terms of transparency.

Platinum status demonstrates The Immokalee Foundation’s exceptional trustworthiness, financial strength, fiscal management best practices, and tangible successful outcomes in its mission of creating pathways to successful professional careers for the students of Immokalee.  Previously known as the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency, in 2019, Foundation Center and GuideStar joined forces to become Candid. To earn Platinum status, The Immokalee Foundation disclosed extensive information through its Candid Nonprofit Profile. The in-depth data encompasses the foundation’s organizational background, in-depth financial data, and qualitative and quantitative information about its goals, strategies, capabilities and results.  Philanthropists, donors and foundations who support charitable organizations rely upon the Candid rating as a verified indicator of the strength, proficiency, and effectiveness of nonprofits.

“By achieving Platinum status year after year, The Immokalee Foundation continues to set ourselves apart as a responsible steward of the generous donations made to support our programs,” said Noemi Y. Perez, President and CEO of The Immokalee Foundation. “Only 0.1% of nonprofits nationally achieve this rating and Candid’s Nonprofit Profile serves as a great tool to help us present donors with a wealth of up-to-date metrics and to communicate our exciting initiatives.”

David S. is an Immokalee Foundation senior from Immokalee High School who has been a part of the Foundation since 7th grade. Through the Foundation’s Career Pathways program, David found his passion for giving back to the community. The program enabled David to participate in the Collier County Sheriff’s Office’s Public Career Academy which opened his eyes to new career options. David plans to further his education by attending Florida Gulf Coast University in the fall.

“I joined The Immokalee Foundation to better myself and my family and to become as involved in my community as possible, “ said David S. “Through my participation in The Immokalee Foundation, I’ve gained experiences, friends, knowledge and insight into myself. The Foundation helped me find my passion and a career where I can give back not only to my community, but also my entire country—which I love.”
