The NEW state of the art Bascom Palmer Eye Center at Naples is now open on Tamiami Trail in the heart v of our community.
This magnificent 20,000 square foot facility designed by Gresham Smith & Partners is home to a full-time dedicated team of doctors including Stephen G. Schwartz, M.D., M.B.A, Allister G. Gibbons, M.D., William, Smiddy, M.D., Cory M. Collier, O.D., Jaclyn Kovach, M.D. and Victor M. Villegas, M.D. This team is committed to the protection and preservation of the treasured gift of sight and it is their mission to serve our community by enhancing the quality of life by improving sight, preventing blindness, and advancing ophthalmic knowledge through compassionate patient care, innovative vision research and education. In addition to this incredible team of Naples doctors, a team of full-time Bascom Palmer faculty members are traveling to Naples on a regular basis from our eye centers in Miami, Palm Beach Gardens and Plantation.

The need for an Ambulatory Surgery Center in Naples has become very evident. Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is dedicated to bring world-class care to the Naples Community. With this new surgical center, Naples area patients will no longer need to travel to Miami for specialized surgeries and follow-up care. Bascom Palmer is bringing nationally acclaimed high-quality surgeons to you. These surgeons specialize in retinal detachments, pediatric retinal procedures, corneal transplants, cataracts, adult and pediatric glaucoma, strabismus, oculoplastics and other surgical conditions.
The Sight Savers Campaign is currently under way seeking to raise $2 million in private donations to fully equip this surgical center. Timely support will ensure that skilled ophthalmologists have the instruments and equipment necessary to provide convenient sightsaving surgery and follow-up care to the Naples Community. The Ambulatory Surgical Center will occupy half of the second floor of the new Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at Naples equaling 5,000 square feet. There will be six patient surgical preparation areas and recovery bays with two operating rooms. A comfortable family surgical waiting lounge is available for loved ones.
