From the Desk of Congressman Byron Donalds

2021 is finally upon us! I wish you and your families a tremendous year filled with health and happiness.
On January 3rd, I had the distinct privilege of being sworn in as a member of the 117th Congress of the United States, to serve you and Southwest Florida. The honor that has been bestowed upon me is not lost, nor will it be forgotten.

The last few weeks of 2020 were spent hiring staff, selecting our office suite, and New Member Orientation. While this transition process has been exciting, I’m more than ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work on behalf of Southwest Florida defending our Constitution. The staff we’ve assembled are all patriots dedicated to fighting for the American Dream.

While 2020 brought much uncertainty, here are a few things you can be certain of: I will serve as a fierce protector of Florida’s waterways and our water quality. Just like I was when serving in the Florida House, I will continue to be an advocate for Florida’s water while serving in Congress.

I will also work to fight against Congress raising your taxes. It’s a goal of mine to bring common sense back to our federal budget. While it is unfortunate that the Republicans are currently in the Minority Party, I will fight to cut excess spending and bring real reform to the budgetary process. During my term, my staff and I will also work to bring real relief to hard-working Americans, our small businesses, and those working on the frontline during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Byron and Erika Donalds and family

While my name might be on the door, the office belongs to you- the people of FL-19 and Southwest Florida. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to serve. As my staff and I gear up for what is set to be an exciting 2021 Congressional Session, stay tuned for exciting updates.

For now, I have included some pictures from my adventures in Washington, D.C. for New Member Orientation. I am incredibly thankful for your support and belief in my ability to serve.

Sincerely,
Byron Donalds
Congressman (FL-19)
