from the desk of Congressman Byron Donalds

Despite the upcoming holiday season, my office has never been busier, serving the people of Southwest Florida. Whether it’s protecting Florida’s natural resources and waterways or protecting the tax dollars of hardworking Southwest Floridians from being used on progressive pet projects, my office has consistently led the fight to ensure we’re advancing the principles of Florida’s 19th Congressional District.

The wallets of the American people are not the personal checking accounts of the Washington elite, and during my time in Congress, I am committed to bringing our fiscal house in order in defense of your tax dollars. This holiday season, Americans across the country will feel the burden of inflation in all sectors of the economy. After facing the most expensive Thanksgiving holiday in history due to the reckless spending of career politicians on Capitol Hill, Americans are experiencing empty shelves in stores, delayed packages, and a fiscally crippling holiday season.A nation still reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic, leaders in Washington should focus on bringing relief to the American people, not cause greater economic struggle.

Since taking office, I’ve met with several local leaders, financial stakeholders, and concerned constituents to discuss ways that government can get out of the way to ensure every American achieves economic prosperity. As your representative, I’m committed to supporting efforts that prioritize the wallet of the American taxpayer, advocating for the bettering of Southwest Florida, and stopping unwarranted overreach of our federal government.

I’d like to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season. May the joyous festivities this holiday season serve as a reminder of our blessings, our family, our health, and the privilege of living in the most unrestricted state in the Union. May you all have a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and a prosperous New Year!

Sincerely,
Byron Donalds
Member of Congress
