FOSTERING SUCCESS ANNOUNCES 2026 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Fostering Success is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2026 Fostering Success Scholarship: Annika Allan-Burke, Alexandra Giallanza-Dryden, Marisol Jasso, Denicha Louis, Skyla Palau, Emily PeQueen and Andrea Valdes. The scholarships are awarded based on the applicant’s life experiences and demonstrated commitment to academic and personal development rather than grades.
The Fostering Success Scholarship, a fund of the Collier Community Foundation, is in its sixth year and supports foster youth in pursuit of higher education. The funds can be used at an accredited two- or four-year college, certificate program or trade school anywhere in the United States. Each recipient is awarded $3,500 to help cover any necessary education expenses such as tuition, books and supplies.
Youth transitioning from foster care often face unique challenges in accessing and completing higher education. Financial hardship, lack of stable support systems and frequent moves can all serve as obstacles to success. The Fostering Success Scholarship aims to ease these burdens by providing not only funding but also long-term encouragement and connection to the community.
“Education is the most important tool we can give the young people that come into our program,” said Ann Hughes, (Featured Photo) CEO of Fostering Success. “This scholarship not only gives financial support but shows these students they have a community behind them that believes in them.”
Fostering Success has college students attending Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), Florida Southern College, Florida Southwestern State College (FSW), Jacksonville State College, Lorenzo Walker Technical College, Santa Fe College, University of North Florida (UNF), University of South Florida, University of Virginia and Wyoming Catholic College.
