Chef’s Column: Rich and Cheesy

Shula’s Crab Mac and Cheese is the perfect example of our commitment to culinary expertise and, as a result, has become one of our most requested side dishes. The addition of succulent Jumbo Lump Crab meat to an already unique and rich Mac and Cheese recipe makes this a crowd pleaser on any occasion as well as a delicious compliment to any one of our premium grade SHULA CUT® steaks.

Shula’s Crab Mac and Cheese – The Recipe

We begin by placing 6 oz. of Boursin cream into a small saucepot and bring it to a gentle simmer that encourages the creation of a flawless sauce. Next, we combine 7 oz. of cooked Gemelli pasta to the Boursin cream sauce and gently mix with a spoon. Once fully coated, the pasta mixture is placed in a hot rarebit dish and evenly topped with 2 oz. of Jumbo Lump Crab meat. We then sprinkle the top with 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese and a ¼ cup of croutons that have been chopped into roughly ¼ inch pieces. Place in a 400-degree oven on the bottom shelf and cook for approximately seven minutes or until the top is golden brown and the sauce is bubbling. To finish this delicious fan favorite, garnish with 1 tablespoon of finely sliced green onions and serve immediately. The portion offered is the ideal size for sharing, but we’ll understand if you want to keep all the creamy goodness to yourself. Enjoy!
