Celebrate Community, Agriculture and Gratitude at the 69th Annual Farm-City BBQ

For nearly seven decades, one of Collier County’s most cherished Thanksgiving traditions has brought together farmers, business leaders, elected officials and neighbors around a shared table. On November 25, the 69th Annual Farm-City BBQ will once again welcome thousands to the Collier County Fairgrounds for an afternoon celebrating community, agriculture and the next generation of local leaders.

What began 69 years ago as a simple act of kindness has become one of Southwest Florida’s most beloved annual events. During a difficult harvest season, Naples business leaders stepped up to support local farming families so they could enjoy Thanksgiving with their loved ones. The following year, the farmers returned the gesture by hosting a barbecue in appreciation. That exchange of generosity sparked a tradition that continues today, reminding us that our community is strongest when we support one another.

The Farm-City BBQ celebrates the partnership between Collier County’s rural and urban communities while recognizing the people whose hard work ensures fresh food reaches our tables every day. Agriculture remains one of the region’s most important industries, and the event serves as an opportunity to thank the farmers, farmworkers, businesses and volunteers who help keep Collier County thriving.

“The Farm City BBQ honors the important role agriculture has played in shaping Collier County while celebrating the partnerships that continue to strengthen our community today,” said Michael Wynn, Board Chair of the Farm City BBQ. “It is one of the rare occasions where leaders from every corner of the community gather alongside community members to celebrate the people, industries, and partnerships that make our county exceptional. The event has become known as the unofficial reunion of Collier County’s business and agricultural communities, where cowboy boots replace business attire and conversations happen over a hearty steak lunch featuring locally grown vegetables from Immokalee. Volunteer business leaders fire up the grills while Collier County’s elected officials roll up their sleeves to serve as celebrity servers, creating a uniquely local tradition built on service, gratitude and fellowship.

Guests will enjoy live music by the Back Country Boys Band, networking, fundraising activities and a welcoming atmosphere that attracts longtime attendees and first-time visitors alike.

Beyond the food and festivities, every ticket purchased helps invest in Collier County’s future. Proceeds benefit Collier County4-H, Collier County Junior Deputies, Key Clubs of Collier County and Youth Leadership Collier—organizations that provide leadership development, education and service opportunities for local youth. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $730,000 to support youth programs.
