CAPA Season features Collaborations and Debut Performances

The Cultural and Performing Arts Center (CAPA) announces another edgy, eclectic and extraordinary season with 13 concerts scheduled from November 2017 through May 2018. Three distinctly different series include the Spectrum Series, Jazz & Blues Series and Rising Stars Series. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Wang Opera Center, 2408 Linwood Avenue, Naples.

Uniquely configured small ensembles featuring memorable combinations of instrumentation and performance styles will present a wide range of musical genres punctuated by close-up artist and audience interaction made possible by the intimate setting of the Wang Opera Center. Several newly formed groups will present debut performances ranging from classical music, jazz and blues to “hoedown” style.

CAPA Spectrum Series concerts are scheduled on November 17, December 13, February 9, February 16, March 17 and April 3. A very special addition to the February 16 and March 17 concerts will be the overlay of interpretive dance performed by Naples Ballet. CAPA Jazz & Blues Series concerts — complete with dance floor for audience participation — are December 2, January 10, January 19 and March 2. CAPA Rising Stars Series performances featuring the outstanding young stars of tomorrow are March 23, April 28 and May 2.

The CAPA season kicsk off on Novmber 17 with an international salute featuring Russian & Italian Art Songs performed by pianist Milana Strezeva and baritone Anton Belov. The season concludes on May 2 with a swing to sonic
evening entitled Fresh Sounds of Jazz with The Naples Philharmonic Youth Jazz Orchestra. Series tickets for the six-concert Spectrum Series are $240 for adults, $60 for students/children and $300 for VIP seating. Series tickets for the three-concert Rising Stars Series are $120 adults, $30 students/children and $150 VIP.

Tickets for the four-concert Jazz & Blues Series are $160 for adults, $40 for students/children and $200 for VIP seating. VIP seating includes preferred seating as well as a meet-the-artists reception following each concert, with appetizers, wine and beer. Purchasers of both the Spectrum Series and Jazz & Blues Series will receive the Rising Stars series at no charge.
Individual tickets for Spectrum, Rising Stars or Jazz & Blues concerts are $40 for adults, $10 for students/children and $50 for VIP seating. Tickets can be ordered at www.CAPAcenter.org or by calling 239.775.2800. Tickets should be ordered early, as seating is limited.
