Bringing Comprehensive, High-Quality Healthcare to the Heart of Orangetree

by Gabrielle O’Boyle, Healthcare Network

In Orangetree, growth is everywhere you look. New homes, new families, and a steady rhythm of daily life define this expanding corner of Collier County. But for years, one essential piece has been missing. Access to nearby healthcare has not kept pace, leaving many residents traveling miles for even the most routine care.

That experience is now changing.

Healthcare Network’s Van Domelen Community Health Center has opened in the heart of Orangetree in Golden Gate Estates, bringing comprehensive, high-quality care closer to home for one of Southwest Florida’s fastest growing communities. The center officially began welcoming patients on April 1. For more than 41,000 residents who call this area home, the new center offers not just convenience, but a renewed sense of connection to care.

Until now, the region stretching from Collier Boulevard and Immokalee Road to Ave Maria has remained largely medically underserved. Despite rapid growth, it has long been considered a healthcare desert, where access to nearby services has lagged behind the needs of the community. The opening of this thoughtfully designed two story, 15-million-dollar facility signals a meaningful shift.

Inside, the center reflects a modern, integrated approach to healthcare. Patients can access children’s care, family care, and women’s care, including obstetrics and gynecology, all in one place. Dental services and integrated behavioral health are also available, alongside on-site X ray and lab services and a drive-thru pharmacy designed for ease and efficiency.

The experience is intentionally seamless. Families can schedule appointments, fill prescriptions, and complete routine testing without leaving the building. It is a model that not only saves time, but also encourages a more proactive approach to health and well-being.

The center itself is the result of a shared vision rooted in community investment. The two-story, $15 million medical complex was made possible in part by a landmark gift from the Bill and Julia Van Domelen Foundation, along with private donations and approximately $8 million in state funding spearheaded by Senator Kathleen Passidomo. Together, these contributions reflect a collective commitment to expanding access to care where it is needed most.

A Grand Opening event on May 6 will mark the official opening of the new center and highlight the collaborative effort behind its development.

Beyond the services it provides, the Van Domelen Community Health Center represents something deeper. It creates opportunities for earlier diagnoses, consistent care, and stronger relationships between patients and providers. It also reinforces a sense of stability for families who can now rely on having trusted healthcare close by.

Appointments are now available by calling 239.658.3000.

As Orangetree continues to evolve, the Van Domelen Community Health Center reflects the kind of thoughtful growth that strengthens a community from within. Here, care is no longer something residents have to travel for. It is part of everyday life.
