Art after Dark – February 2019

The traffic is up to its usual level. It might even feel busier than last year at this time, but we all realize that this is a place we want to be!

There are a variety of “happenings” around town geared toward all of our many wants and needs. For those interested in the Arts, they are alive and well in downtown Naples with an art event at least every weekend.

During the day, there are outdoor art shows in Cambier Park February 2nd, 9th, 23rd and 24th. There is a special show opening at the Phil Fisher Gallery the evening of February 2nd from 6-9 pm featuring artwork by area artists including Jeff Fessenden, Janet Kirby, Phil Fisher and Natalie Guess focusing en plein air paintings of Naples scenes.

While mentioning en plein air, there is an annual fundraising event called Third on Canvas where the public is invited to come and watch the paintings being created by more than 30 artists on location in the Third Street South area from10 am-4 pm February 17th and 18th.

On the evening of February 21st, is an opportunity to purchase those works at the auction at the Naples Beach Hotel to raise funds for PAWS Assistance Dogs and Friends of Foster Children Forever, two wonderful local charities.

February 9th, the Galleries of Crayton Cove welcome the public to come and enjoy a festive evening from 6-9pm, where they can listen to music performed by Michael Colligan & Friends while viewing artwork created by area professional artists.

Crayton Cove is a charming waterside area worth the visit, located where 8th St. S. & 12th Ave. S. meet at the flag pole by the bay., as well as some of the more recent accomplishments and notable events in the Reserve’s timeline.
