ART after DARK

Art. It’s all around us and in everything we do. Collier County chose the month of November to celebrate the Arts and kick off the season with a focus on the arts. During this month there are numerous happenings around Naples which can be found on the Calendar of Events through the United Arts Council of Collier County. One event to shine a light on is “Quick Draw” for Art Aid Naples, which is a fundraiser for Legal Aid Services of Collier County. It takes place on Saturday November 27th in Cambier Park where you can see 50 artists paint live in their various mediums while live bands provide music throughout the morning. They create and complete a painting in three hours and have it ready for sale that afternoon. It’s a fun event and you can purchase a fresh piece of art for that special place of honor in your home.

Speaking of fresh art, the Phil Fisher Gallery is featuring a show of “The Beauty Around Us” during the month of November. It is showcasing paintings by Phil Fisher and Jan Ellen Atkielski and photography by Nolen Fisher. Also on display are batiks by award winning Naples artist, Natalie Guess. She took home an Award of Recognition 2021 from Paint Grand Traverse, a plein-air affair, where 40 artists from all over the United States competed with over 225 pieces and only nine awards were given. Bravo!

The Phil Fisher Gallery is located in Crayton Cove, a unique shopping area, where 8th St. S. and 12th Ave. S. meet at the flagpole, by the City Dock on Naples Bay. www.philfishergallery.com
