The Naples Players production of “Miracle on 34th Street” was the first sensory friendly theatre performance for TNP and Naples. For the first time, families with members on the autism spectrum and other disabilities that limit their access to theatre as it is commonly experienced, were able to attend a holiday performance for the first time.

Alexander added programming with classes that extend the positive effects of theatre deeper into the community with improvisation classes to benefit people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers, acting for adults and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a free Shakespeare series culminating in anti-violence and bullying prevention workshops.

Naples High School now brings students in their Exceptional Student Education Program to the theatre for weekly improvisation classes. With so many positive changes, Naples can expect great things as The Naples Players enter their exciting 65th Anniversary Season.

“Our 65th Anniversary season showcases the reasons that The Naples Players has become one of the leading theatres of its kind in the country,” said Alexander. “

Presenting three classic American musicals, with full orchestras to accompany the cast, the season celebrates the styles of music and dance that have defined the best of Broadway.

We are thrilled that this diverse offering will provide Southwest Florida with the high quality, fully realized artistic productions, made possible with the incredible talent that exists in Naples. While we are proud of our history as a community theatre, we look forward to the next 65 years as Naples’ theatre for thc Community.”
