Johnsonville member Megan Nehls to develop a cookbook for those who need some inspiration in the kitchen, whether it’s a quick family dinner, a game day party, a festive gathering with friends or snack time for the kids.

“Now that grilling sausage is easier than ever before, we wanted to share our favorite recipes—some based on family favorites and others putting a new spin on classic sausages dishes—with sausage lovers everywhere,” says Nehls. The Sizzling Sausage Cookbook is inspired by the company’s launch of the first – and only – indoor electric sausage grill designed exclusively for Johnsonville fresh sausages.

“We’re all time-starved, so we wanted to give folks quick, easy and well balanced recipes that they can have fun with in 30 minutes or less,” says Stayer. Johnsonville takes the guesswork out of grilling with the Sizzling Sausage Grill™. And now, with The Sizzling Sausage Cookbook, consumers will have dozens of delicious recipes to pair with their favorite sausages and brats, from hurry-up appetizers to please a hungry crowd, to quick weekday meals for busy families and game-day treats for sporting events.

“mompreneur”— she’s been awarded Entrepreneur of the Year in both Wisconsin and Florida. She and her husband, Ralph C. Stayer, own Johnsonville Sausage. Ralph and Shelly live in Naples, Florida, where her involvement in community relations has helped countless children and families in need, and earned her several awards in both Florida and Wisconsin. The Sizzling Sausage Cookbook is Shelly’s third book. Together, Ralph and Shelly have seven children, many of whom are involved in the family business.

A love of food and cooking is nothing new to Megan Nehls. Growing up, her parents owned a supper club in Fox Lake, Wisconsin. Megan quickly realized the joy friends and families experienced over a meal together. But when Megan moved to foodiehaven Chicago, cooking became a luxury her tiny studio apartment no longer could afford. And outdoor grilling was a distant memory—19 stories down to be exact. Enter a career at Johnsonville Sausage and the Sizzling Sausage Grill, two things that have allowed Megan to combine her passion of cooking healthful meals with her love of marketing.
