20th Annual Capital Wealth Advisors Turkey Drop to Provide Meals for Thousands of Needy Families with St. Matthews House this Thanksgiving
Capital Wealth Advisors (CWA), an independent financial advisory firm, is proud to announce that it will partner with several area businesses and the non-profit St. Matthew’s House on the 20th Annual Capital Wealth Advisors Turkey Drop, benefitting local individuals and families experiencing hardship during this holiday season.
Over a two-week period, more than 200 Capital Wealth Advisors employees, family members and other volunteers will collect, pack and distribute Thanksgiving meals through a series of distribution sites across Collier and Lee counties. Last year, the Turkey Drop served about 3,000 families. This year, thanks to a generous match from The Beynon Family, they will be providing an additional 3,000 meals—bringing the total to 6,000 turkey meal boxes for families in need.
CWA President and CEO Bill Beynon and his wife Nena launched Turkey Drop 20 years ago after he heard a radio spot asking for turkeys to be donated to St. Matthew’s House for those in need during the holidays. That donation was the inspiration for the very first Turkey Drop and the event has expanded tremendously into an eagerly anticipated occasion each holiday season.
“It is incredible to see how our firm’s employees and the community have come together in support of this event over the years,” said Beynon. “It is truly my favorite holiday tradition.”
The community giveback begins with volunteers gathering in the parking lot at First Naples Church in Naples the week before Thanksgiving to collect and pack meal boxes with frozen turkeys, stuffing, mashed potatoes, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, eggs and pumpkin pies.
Meals will then be distributed to low-income families, those with disabilities, senior citizens and veterans by CWA and other community partners working with St. Matthews House across a series of distribution locations throughout Collier and Lee counties starting on November 20th.
“We are deeply grateful for the generosity and leadership of Bill Beynon and Capital Wealth Advisors for bringing so many caring people together to extend the blessings of love and giving to so many,” said St. Matthew’s House CEO Steve Brooder. “Their kindness will help struggling individuals and families in Southwest Florida not only at the holidays but throughout the year.”
The 20th annual Capital Wealth Advisors’ Turkey Drop volunteer team includes the entire CWA staff as well as several community partners, including The Beynon Family, First Naples Church; Moglia Family Foundation; Wilson &Johnson; Woods, Weidenmiller, Michetti & Rudnick; Cal-Maine Foods; Allen Concrete & Masonry; Naples Dealers (Acura, Audi, Volkswagen, & Infiniti); FT Cares Foundation; New IQ; Coleman | Yovanovich | Koester; Sunshine Ace Hardware; Seed to Table; Midwest Food Bank; Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida; Alpha Lift Trucks; Penske Truck Rental; Cogent Bank; Sentry Insurance Advisors; Harborside Animal Clinic; DeAngelis Diamond; Hadinger Flooring; The Partnership; and Ralph MacNiven State Farm.
