When the word “classic” describes an event, you know it’s going to be time-honored and chic.

It’s only summer, but The Immokalee Foundation is already warming up for its classic events scheduled for November – the Charity Classic Celebration and Pro-Am golf tournament.

Our board members, staff, mentors, community partners, instructors, corporate sponsors and volunteers are coming together to ensure that the great potential among this generation of youth in Immokalee is enabled to flourish.

The Charity Classic events are a very important way to forge pathways to success for the students of Immokalee. The Charity Classic Celebration provides opportunities to support students in achieving professional careers through Fund A Dream™, a unique live bidding experience that enables donors to contribute to Immokalee’s children in specific and tangible ways. The Fund A Dream™ auction supports important programs like Immokalee Readers, career development opportunities, internships and scholarships for college and vocational programs designed to lead to financial independence.

Not only is the Celebration an important fundraising event – it’s a great deal of fun for those attending! The evening of fine dining and entertainment takes place Friday, November 9, at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples. The reception begins at 6 p.m. and is followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m.

Barbara Morrison, a board member of The Immokalee Foundation, is chairing this year’s Celebration. The cost to attend is $550 per person. Underwriting and sponsorships are available.

On Sunday, November 11, foursomes of amateur golfers will learn which professionals they will be paired with for the first and second nine holes of play in the Charity Classic Pro-Am, scheduled for Monday, November 12, at Bay Colony Golf Club. The exclusive pairings party takes place at The Old Collier Golf Club.

The Immokalee Foundation’s 2018 Charity Classic Pro-Am will feature more than two dozen of the world’s greatest golfers who are paired with Southwest Florida’s most philanthropic players for a day of camaraderie in support of the foundation’s programs.

The morning begins at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast and golf demonstrations, followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Lunch and an awards presentation immediately follow the tournament.

Sunny Sapiente of Bay Colony Golf Club is chairing this year’s Pro-Am.

Champion golfers and event sponsors are being lined up to join Florida Community Bank and Huntington Private Bank in their support of the children of Immokalee this year. For sponsorship information, call 239.430.9122 or email info@immokaleefoundation.org.
