Swinging with a Purpose ends with a bang!

Swinging With Purpose™ held a private reception at Quail West Golf and Country Club. It was a precursor for the rematch of the “Battle of the Sexes.” New to our venues, Brad and Nancy Sauer hosted an inaugural “Gals and Guys Hangin’ with Nancy and Chris” at Grey Oaks Country Club. Nancy Lopez (PGA Hall of Famer) and Chris DiMarco (PGA Professional and Golf Channel’s Morning Drive host) led two (2) fun filled days with members and friends at each Club.

Both events were sold out and the days’ activities generated more than $85,000 in proceeds. We extend a special thank you to Nancy Lopez, Chris DiMarco, our family of Sponsors, local businesses who donated Auction items and the Quail West and Grey Oaks friends for your continued support of our mission. Since the inaugural golf tournament held in 2013, Swinging With Purpose™ has donated more than $475,000 in monetary and in-kind donations to various grassroots organizations that serve women, girls and children in our community. Due to the generosity of our golfing communities at large, WE are making a HUGE difference for these organizations.

SWP raises funds to meet specific needs of carefully selected beneficiaries. We pride ourselves on “needs” based fundraising. We know our beneficiaries and our donations are very NEEDS specific. We are respectful and responsible with our donor dollars. With our totally volunteer Board of Directors, 95 cents of every dollar collected went to our beneficiaries in 2016. Through our beneficiaries, we are addressing homelessness, extreme poverty, hunger, alternative educational systems for high-risk teen girls, human trafficking, domestic violence, child
physical and sexual abuse, teen pregnancies and providing safe havens for this population.

Beneficiaries to date include the Shelter for Abused Women & Children, PACE Center for Girls, Our Mother’s Home,
LACES of Love, Providence House, Sunlight Home, Blessings in a Backpack and Dress for Success. Supporting our newest beneficiary, Blessings in a Backpack, we will provide a weekend of non-perishables to 300 kids at Golden Gate Elementary School for the 2017/8 school year. Yes, there is a severe poverty and hunger issue right here in our community!

Lastly, 2017 brought about great news for our mission, for our beneficiaries. Swinging With Purpose™ is proud to join the Liberty Mutual Invitational Golf Tournament Series, The #1 Charity Event In GolfTM. The inaugural Invitational Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, May 6th, 2018 at Quail West Golf & Country Club.
Nancy Lopez, PGA Hall of Famer and spokesperson for Swinging With Purpose™, will appear at the inaugural
tournament as we kick off this very special partnership. Details of the tournament and registration will be available at www. swingingwithpurpose.org no later than February 1, 2018.

We encourage early registration as we expect a full field. The Liberty Mutual Invitational is a series of more than 75 charity golf tournaments held around the country and hosted by Liberty Mutual Insurance. Local and national charitable organizations have raised more than $9 million in net proceeds for their charities in 2017 and more than $225 million since 1987. The Liberty Mutual Invitational tournaments are single-day events featuring an 18-hole Scramble format open to men and women amateur golfers of all skill levels in the local community.

Each tournament is held at a prestigious golf course in that community and concludes with a dinner and awards
ceremony. Leaders from the community, business and charitable organizations run and promote the local tournaments with support from local Liberty Mutual employees. Winning foursomes from each local tournament are invited to play in the four-day Liberty Mutual Invitational National Finals the following spring. For more
