STARability Foundation ANNOUNCES CO-CHAIRS FOR 5TH ANNUAL STAR GALA

STARability’s 2023 STAR Gala co-chairs Allison Rainey and Jana Seaman

STARability Foundation is excited to announce Allison Rainey and Jana Seaman as event co-chairs of the 5th Annual STAR Gala: Night on the Red Carpet. The fundraiser will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples at 5:30 p.m. and feature cocktails, dinner, live entertainment, and a variety of exclusive live and silent auctions.

Allison Rainey and her husband, Chuck, vice president of BCB Homes, have been active supporters of STARability since its inception. She has served on the Gala committee for the past three years and co-chaired the auction in 2022.

“As co-chair, I want to help STARability progress and move forward with their plans for growth,” said Rainey. “I love supporting the caring, enthusiastic and positive team that provides valuable support to the STARs and their families through social, educational, and employment opportunities. I see the happiness and fulfillment of the STARs out in our community each day.”

Jana Seaman and husband, Brent, were first introduced to STARability in 2019 when they attended the Gala on behalf of their special needs daughter, Kenidi. They also sponsored the 2021 and 2022 Run, Walk and Roll, and the 2022 Gala.

“Supporting STARability’s mission means so much to us personally because of our journey with Kenidi,” said Seaman. “We have supported many nonprofit organizations in the Naples community, but none of them have had the structurally sound operational team and strong blueprint for a long-term impact like STARability. We wholeheartedly know that each hour and every dollar that we contribute does indeed go to improving the lives of the participants and advancing the program to reach new heights. I like to say that we are sowing seeds for what is to come and we hope that one day Kenidi will join STARability’s programs.”

Following the sold-out 2022 STAR Gala that raised $3.2 million, STARability’s largest benefit event of the year returns to raise funds to expand the nonprofit organization’s innovative programs that shine light on ability, not disability.

Proceeds from the event support hundreds of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout the community.

For nearly four decades, STARability Foundation has been shining a light on abilities, not disabilities. Formed by a small community of caring parents, STARability has become one of Southwest Florida’s leading nonprofits. Today, the organization is opening a world of possibilities for hundreds of individuals ages 14 and older by offering a variety of inclusive programs focused on vocational training, continuing education, teamwork, social engagement and community involvement. Their compassionate team supports people with disabilities by providing life-transforming opportunities that emphasize teamwork and a connection to the community while strengthening awareness and respect for individual abilities.
