As we embark on another season in Southwest Florida, the Naples Art Association (NAA) is shaking things up with a first for Naples – an innovative, high-energy, visionary wearable art show – Scene to be Seen: A Runway ArtShow.

This inaugural experience, chaired by Amanda Jaronof A.JARON Fine Jewelry, will take place on November 2 at Volvo Cars of Naples and will feature the glamour and energy of New York Fashion Week combined with the sophistication and exclusivity of Naples while showcasing the talent of more than 25 local – and internationally-recognized – artists on models strutting the runway.

Before the runway show, guests will enjoy a dynamic welcome reception complete with delicious hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails all in an immersive atmosphere allowing the opportunity to socialize and experience the artists’ process and work first-hand.

After the show, artists from Los Angeles, New York, Philippines, and Italy as well as right here in Southwest Florida will have their work, including men’s and women’s garments; accessories; jewelry; and more, on display and available for purchase. And, the night wouldn’t be complete without a fabulous after-party with music and a cash bar provided by Shula’s Steakhouse of Naples.

With this feature, we will pull back the curtain on this extravagant evening and give you a sneak peek of some of the talented artists and the work they will showcase. And, we promise, you won’t want to miss this scene!

LOKI

Fashion designer, Loki (low-key), is a life-long artist who has been creating since he was four-years-old. By high school, Loki’s art had evolved into fashion, and he began selling custom, wearable art designs to classmates. Today, he operates his custom clothing line -Loki Designz- and has adopted the “Love Is Key” motto for his work.

With a focus on nature, many of his designs include leaves, feathers, or owls to symbolize what draws him into the natural beauty and intrigue of life. Loki looks for unique clothing items by sourcing vintage apparel, that would make interesting canvases for his art.

“I want my art to offer a connection back to nature, and back to finding your own personal style in each piece,” said Loki.

BALLOON BUCCCANEERS

Local artists, the Balloon Buccaneers – led by mother, Beth Perez, and her two teenage sons, Justin and Ryan – have taken balloon art to a new level. Specializing in large balloon sculptures, this family has won international recognition including top balloon artist in the Las Vegas Bling Bling Jam Balloon Convention in 2016.

From birthday parties and festivals to creating a 60-foot octopus with over 2,000 balloons, the family enjoys working with balloons to design art for every occasion.

JANE VELLEJO

Self-taught artist and designer, Jane Vallejo, specializes in fashion and home décor that are derived from her original artwork, which she refers to as “a mosaic of harmonized painted dots”, or floral designs made with her signature pointillism technique.

She proudly infuses her love of beautiful bright colors to vibrate positive energy into all of her paintings, which are then transferred into her fashion and home décor collections. She gathers inspiration from everything beautiful around her, but especially from her surroundings right here in Naples.

WITH A FOCUS ON SUSTAINABLE ARTWEAR, ARTIST LEEANN KROETSCH’S WORK IS FASHIONABLE, WHILE RESPONSIBLE.

LEEANN KROETSCH

Artist Leeann Kroetsch’s current focus is on the creation of sustainable artwear. By deconstructing luxe, vintage dresses and using the silk fabric mixed with her own felting technique, she is able to breathe new life into these often-discarded items and give them a renewed purpose. In just the past four years, she has won numerous awards for her work at high level art festivals across Florida including Best of Show in the 2017 Santa Fe College Art Festival, the 2016 SunFest Juried Art Show, and the 2014 Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce Art Festival.
