Infusion therapy is a treatment that delivers fluids, blood or medicine directly into the bloodstream.

Your healthcare provider may prescribe infusion therapy as a way of administering medicine, nutrients or special fluids intravenously (IV). Patients requiring regular or extended treatments often find outpatient care more convenient and cost effective compared to hospital-based services, which can cost up to twice as much.
