Naples Cancer Advisors Names Events &Community Engagement Coordinator

Naples Cancer Advisors, a new community-based, non-profit organization that provides consultative oncology services throughout Southwest Florida, has named Mercedes Mikalaitis as Events & Community Engagement Coordinator. In this part-time role, Mikalaitis will work to build awareness of the organization and its often crucial, life-saving second opinion services.

With generous funding from The Cincinnati Cancer Foundation, Inc., Naples Cancer Advisors provides consultative oncology services by appointment. These services include second opinions, care coordination, referrals, clinical trial navigation, financial navigation, and precision oncology services, including genetic testing and counseling for cancer patients throughout the Southwest Florida region.

Through a combination of outreach efforts, educational initiatives, and community events, Mikalaitis will help spread the mission of empowering individuals and families with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate their cancer journey with confidence and hope. She also will work to foster connections with local healthcare providers, other nonprofits and community leaders throughout the Southwest Florida region and to spread awareness about the invaluable services Naples Cancer Advisors offers.

Mikalaitis is experienced in organizing and coordinating community events as the owner of a corporate event planning company. She relocated to Naples in 2022 from Colorado, where she managed her husband’s chiropractic office. This included running all aspects of the business, including insurance, credentialing, office administration, employee management, and day-to-day business operations. She is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Science in International Relations.
