Nanofat Platelet Solutions for Skin

by Dr. Andrew Turk, MD

Facial skin, from the neck to the forehead, is the most visual manifestation of aging.

Plastic surgeons continue to manage sun damaged loose skin with various nonsurgical and surgical approaches for patients.

Nanofatgrafting has been described as early as 2013. This newer technology is providing platelet rich growth factors in the form of PRP and PRF, stimulating nanofat cells to survive and promote healthier skin.

Biologic skin rejuvenation is one of these new applications over the last five years. Nanofat with blood platelets target the deep skin layer with growth factors and fat derived mesenchymal cells.

These solutions are platelet rich plasma (PRP) and platelet rich fibrin(PRF) and are derived from a routine blood draw in the office. The entire treatment with nanofat platelet solution is done in our office under local anesthesia. More than one treatment may be needed to reach patient satisfaction.

The objective of all skin treatments is to slow down or reverse collagen loss in the skin, creating firmer, expanded skin. Combining nanofat and platelet solutions appears to be significantly reaching this goal.

Skin care, lasers, microneedling, injectables and facelifts are all treating aged skin. The biologics, using your own tissue, creates another vehicle to improve the overall appearance of facial skin.

The nanofat platelet solutions are used to promote improved skin elasticity and texture. All of these nonsurgical and surgical procedures are offered by a board certified plastic surgeon.
