From the Desk of Congressman Byron Donalds

This May will be spent traveling back and forth from beautiful Southwest Florida, to the swamps
of Washington, D.C. My colleagues and I in Congress remain committed to fighting for necessary security on our southern border, a fiscally conservative budget, and opposing legislation that infringes upon your Constitutional rights.

Last month, along with some of my team, I took a trip to Texas to see the humanitarian crisis
occurring on our southern border first-hand. I am encouraging President Biden and his administration to take action sooner rather than later to ensure the safety of Americans, as well as the unaccompanied minors migrating to our border. I also had the opportunity to tour estuaries in Southwest Florida with members of the South Florida Water Management District and several
local leaders with the intent to stay informed on the status of our water quality. Water is the lifeblood of our local economy, and I am committed to protecting the long-term health of our water.

I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge Mother’s Day, and recognize all of the sacrifices our mothers make each and every day. Without my mother’s love and care, I wouldn’t be here today as a happily-married father of three and United States Congressman. To my wife, Erika, I am deeply thankful for all that you do for our family and how well you have raised our sons.

As we head into summer, I’d like to wish all of our students and teachers a wonderful and well-deserved summer break. This school year was unlike any before, yet through resiliency and
determination, our students and teachers continue to surpass all expectations. Have a fun, and safe, summer!

Serving the people of Florida’s 19th Congressional District is my distinct honor and privilege. As your representative, I will always strive to fight and protect the Constitution and ensure your
government is working for you, the American taxpayer.

Sincerely,

Byron Donalds
Member of Congress
