Fostering Success Back to School Program Served Record 350 Students

Fostering Success announced that its Back-to-School program served a record number of 350 foster children. The program helps foster children begin the new school year with the supplies and equipment they need to succeed in school.

Through the Back-to-School program, foster children received new backpacks filled with essential items, including five shirts, three pairs of shorts, sneakers, socks and a book. Each student also received school supplies, including notebooks, binders, folders, pens, pencils, calculators, a headset, and other classroom necessities.

Funding for the Back-to-School program was provided through grants from the League Club and Arthrex, which supplied new backpacks, school supplies, uniforms and clothing. Laces of Love donated new shoes, and Books for Collier Kids provided books for foster children.

“This program helps remove barriers that many foster families face at the start of a new school year,” said Ann Hughes, CEO of Fostering Success. “Because of the generosity of our community partners, 350 children walked into their classrooms feeling prepared and excited to learn.”
