event unites community for an evening of fun, fashion, and fundraising
The Parkinson’s Association of Southwest Florida (PASWFL) celebrated a record-breaking success at its annual Bingo for Bags & Baubles fundraiser, held Thursday, October 16, at the Vineyards Country Club. With a sold-out crowd of more than 350 enthusiastic guests, the evening sparkled with excitement—and generosity—raising over $75,000 to support local residents living with Parkinson’s Disease (PD).
Guests enjoyed fast-paced bingo rounds and the thrill of winning fabulous prizes for both women and men, including designer handbags from Gucci, Tory Burch, Brahmin, and Ferragamo, plus stunning accessories and luxury raffle baskets valued at over $600 each. Every table also held a surprise—Christian Roth designer sunglasses for one lucky attendee at each of the 35 tables.
Two of the evening’s top winners took home dazzling treasures, including a $2,500 gift certificate to the International Diamond Center, and another winner took home an exquisite pair of 2-carat diamond hoop earrings from Dunkin’s Diamonds.
“This event is an incredible blend of fun, community spirit, and purpose,” said Mary C. Schoeffel, CFRE, Executive Director of PASWFL. “We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, donors, guests, and volunteers, who made this evening such a joyful success. The funds raised ensure that our programs—offered completely free of charge—continue uninterrupted to empower Southwest Floridians with Parkinson’s to live well, stay active, and connect with vital support.”
The event was generously sponsored by The Wellington Group at Morgan Stanley, Right at
Home, Arden Courts of Lely Palms, and BrightStar Care. Bingo for Bags & Baubles has become one of PASWFL’s most anticipated community events that sells out months before the event.
For more than 25 years, the Parkinson’s Association of Southwest Florida has provided life-changing programs that promote movement, speech, education, and social connection for individuals touched by PD and related neurodegenerative diseases. Each week, PASWFL offers more than 20 free activities for members, care partners, and the greater Southwest Florida PD community.
