BAKER SENIOR CENTER NAPLES RELEASES FALL 2026 SEMESTER COURSES AVAILABLE THROUGH COLLEGE OF LIFELONG LEARNING

Baker Senior Center Naples (BSCN), a nonprofit that provides comprehensive programs and social services for older adults and their families, today announced its newest courses to be offered through the College of Lifelong Learning.

These weekly educational courses are designed specifically for adults over age 60, to rekindle their love of learning or discover something completely new while experiencing the joy of learning without the pressure of exams or papers to write. The Fall semester runs from Tuesday, September 1 through Monday, October 26. Among the courses are:

Self-Care Workshop (Tuesdays at 1 p.m.) – This six-session workshop empowers older adults to cultivate a holistic routine that supports physical health, mental clarity and social connection. Learn the fundamentals of sun protection, gentle DIY soap, and lotion formulas, and explore calming hobbies, mindful nutrition, and more. Led by 4-H Outreach Coordinator Trisha Aldridge, each session balances hands-on practice with evidence-based guidance.
The Art of Travel Photography (Mondays at 1 p.m.) – Photographs not only let us share our experiences with others, they preserve once-in-a-lifetime moments, breathtaking sights and visits with loved ones precisely the way we want to remember them. These expert lessons led by wildlife photographer Sally Lam are the ticket to capturing the beauty and awe of any scene, anywhere in the world.
Passport to Languages (Fridays at 11 a.m.) – This six-session workshop will allow participants to travel the world without leaving the classroom. Each week, they explore a different country, learn common words and phrases in its language, discover cultural traditions, and practice through fun, casual conversation.

Courses will take place at Baker Senior Center Naples, 6200 Autumn Oaks Lane. Tuition is just $20 for senior center members or $50 for non-members. Registration opens on Monday, August 17. For additional information or to register, call 239-325-4444.

Baker Senior Center Naples is the only human services agency of its kind, providing “one-stop shop” services addressing the emotional and social needs of older adults in Collier and southern Lee counties. Since opening its doors in 2014, the agency has seen a surge in the depth and scope of need for comprehensive senior services in this region.

All programs and services are provided by licensed and credentialed professionals. These include the Brookdale Cognitive Health Center, which provides Dementia Respite Groups and Caregiver Support; Case Management and Outreach Programs; and Mental Health Counseling as well as a “choice” Food Pantry.

An average of 40 different social, educational and wellness programs also are offered each week thanks to a dedicated corps of more than 300 trained and vetted volunteers. Among these social programs are classes in art, music and film; brain fitness and educational seminars; courses in technology and computer science; physical well-being; and interest groups. The center serves everyone regardless of backgrounds and beliefs.
