an ARTIST’s perception by Phil Fisher and Natalie Guess

The Guess-Fisher Gallery features works of art by long time residents of Naples, Phil Fisher and Natalie Guess. As well as our paintings, we show a collection of works by eight other professional artists which offers a variety of interpretations of Naples area scenes.

These are two stunning oil paintings we just acquired for the gallery from artist Greg Biolchini and artist Jan Ellen Atkielski. Gulf Rainbow is a 36”x48” oil on canvas and Naples Pier Sunset is a 12”x16” oil on canvas palette knife painting.

We are proud to carry many works by these two lifelong professional artists! I’ve known Greg since the 70’s and he was one of the first artists I met when I came here. At that time, Greg was doing a lot of exquisite wildlife artwork, then he went through a period where he was focusing on portraiture, working in both pastels and oils! We were both part of the Schoolhouse Gallery on Sanibel Island a number of years ago, as well. He’s since devoted much of his painting time to creating large seascapes and cloudscapes in oils, which are the pieces we carry in our gallery today.

Jan Ellen first came to us in our old gallery location in Crayton Cove and was painting beautifully executed large oils using only a palette knife. Her chosen career as an artist began in Milwaukee in the 70’s, where painterly murals were her forte. When she moved here, she continued with her mural work for a number of years, while she became more established in the fine art of palette knife painting. As a master in this medium, she has since taught workshops and done fascinating demonstrations in the gallery and will do so again this coming season in our 985 Central Avenue, Naples location. She will be offering workshops January 19-20, 2025 and March 30-31, 2025. Call 239-659-2787 or stop in for more information.

We’re so proud to carry these fine artist friends as well as the others here in our newest gallery space, in the Naples Design District. We are also proud and honored to be such an integral part of the Naples community and art scene for so many years, so many stories to tell!

Phil Fisher can be found at his easel Guess-Fisher Gallery in the heart of the Naples Design District.
