FOSTERING SUCCESS RECEIVES $25,000 GRANT
FOSTERING SUCCESS RECEIVES $25,000 GRANT FROM THE WOMEN’S GIVING CIRCLE OF SOUTHWEST FLORIDA
Fostering Success is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Women’s Giving Circle of Southwest Florida. The grant will directly support the organization’s Academic Mentoring Program, a vital initiative in providing free tutoring and educational support to local foster children.
Fostering Success recognizes the important role education has in empowering foster children to overcome barriers and break the cycle. Foster children can frequently move homes and schools, causing them to fall behind academically. The Academic Mentoring program aims to address this challenge by offering one-to-one tutoring and guidance for those that were or are in foster care. The students are tested when they enter the program, then every six months to assess specific educational needs. Once matched with a tutor, the tutor remains with the child throughout their placements, providing stability and consistency.
The Women’s Giving Circle of Southwest Florida, a fund of the Collier Community Foundation, is dedicated to improving the lives of women and their families in the community by providing essential resources and support. This grant exemplifies a shared commitment to helping vulnerable children and creating positive change.
“We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from the Women’s Giving Circle of Southwest Florida. Their commitment is a gamechanger for the children we serve,” said Fostering Success CEO Ann Hughes (Featured Photo). “This grant empowers us to provide much-needed educational assistance, stability, and guidance to foster youth. We are deeply appreciative of their dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of these children.”
