Some jewels are a natural for stylish Floridians

G ulf Coast sun . . . it inspires all of us to live in
the present. We are blessed. Even our winters are
more of an ‘idea’ than an actual season. No matter.
We embrace a certain joie de vivre that those
outside our sunny realm only dream about.
Our rarified clime promotes a distinct style permeating
our homes and our personal adornment; savvy, casual, yet
unselfconsciously sophisticated. This month, we turn the
focus on a dazzling stone that all of us can enjoy. You hear
that some colors and stones are better suited for specific
skin tones. Try lemon citrine. The truth is there isn’t a
woman who will not look smashing in this jewel. From
pale complexions to those with a deep tawny glow, this
chameleon stone looks sublime on all skin tones. One of
the reasons we find it to be true is that this sparkler is often
created in larger carat sizes; the better to appreciate its sunny
disposition. The larger carat sizes allow for a show-through
effect of the stone when we wear it next to our bare skin.

relatively hard to find, occurs naturally as a variety of the
mineral quartz. More good news is that when citrine is found,
the crystals are often quite sizeable and free from inclusions.
