        CTP: Green Industries Best Management Practices - English
            The Florida Friendly Best Management Practices for Protection
        of Water Quality by the Green Industries program, commonly
        known as the “Green Industries Best Management Practices” was
        jointly developed by the Florida Department of Environmental
        Protection (FDEP), the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and
        Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) and the private industries related to
        landscape maintenance, called the “green industries.” This training
        is required by the City of Naples, Collier County and the City of
        Marco Island for landscapers to legally work within their limits and
        by most neighboring municipalities in Southwest Florida. This class
        fulfills the statewide Limited Urban Commercial Fertilizer Applicator
        Certificate Program requirement issued by the Florida Department
        of Agriculture and Consumer Services. This class is offered in
        Spanish on June 20.


        June 13, 2017 - June 14, 2017, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
        Teachers on the Estuary (TOTE) workshop
                                        This workshop is open
                                     to all teachers around the
                                     country: any school, any
                                     subject, grades 6-8. The
                                     content of the workshop
                                     will be based on NOAA’s
                                     Estuaries 101 Middle School
                                     curriculum and will likely focus
                                     on topics such as: sharks,
        birds, plankton, invasive species, and water quality. We will spend
        each morning in the field, getting our feet wet exploring the Reserve.
        Afternoons will be inside, meeting staff and learning about activities
        you can adapt for your classroom.

                                        This popular summer
                                     education at Rookery Bay
                                     Environmental Learning
                                     Center program provides
                                     FREE admission for children
                                     ages 12 and younger who are
                                     accompanied by a paying
                                     adult. We recommend a ratio
                                     of no more than three kids per
        adult to ensure a safe and pleasurable experience. Pre-registration is
        not necessary. Adults must pay at door ($5, free for members). This
        summer’s theme is Animals of the Reserve! Scheduled activities
        include: Story Time, Creature Feature, Crafts and Activities, Face
        Painting, and Nature Films. Food trucks will be onsite from 11 a.m. - 1
        p.m. featuring sandwiches, salads, and snacks!
